A Message from Our Founder

Sandy Orsund

For as long as I can remember, I’ve been interested in helping others reach their full potential in all areas of their lives. Born and raised in Plymouth, Indiana, I was passionate about seemingly unconnected things while growing up - sports, psychology, healing practices, and coaching others. I loved sports, but I always struggled with body image, fad diets, and depression due to layers of trauma.

After being told over and over that I wasn’t good enough to compete at the collegiate level athletically, I decided to shift gears, move across the country to attend Arizona State University to study Kinesiology and pursue a career in fitness. Little did I know that someone saw me, shared with the track coaches that I had moved out to Arizona, and they invited me to walk on. That first year was tough, but my fire was lit. The change came with an incredible team, an amazing coach that believed in me, doctors that helped me nurture my body, and a sports psychologist that helped my mental game. I was thriving. I fought my way to be a maroon and gold scholar, receive an athletic scholarship, went to nationals, USA’s (which is the equivalent level competition, but on the off years of the Olympic Trials), won a PAC-10 Championship in the discus, and competed in the 2004 Olympic Trials in Track and Field.

The journey taught me grit, balance, persistence, grace, and knowing when to shift when things are no longer working. I learned that my struggle is not unique, and that pain management comes in many forms. For some, it might look like alcohol, drugs, or sex; mine was food and exercise.

My experiences have enabled me to empathetically nurture others that struggle with pain management, control, balance, trauma, fear, and the desire to fight for their best self. This is one of the reasons why I opened The Union, Wellness Boutique. And all of my seemingly unconnected interests and passions, plus my experiences, certifications, and degrees from college, have blended together perfectly in creating my business.

Setting off on my journey of creating and building my own business has been quite an experience. My desire to be a lifelong learner of how to care for myself and others has led me to be a Trainer, a Strength Coach, and a Healer. I’ve also become a Reiki master, Soul Lightening Acupressure practitioner, and Yoga instructor. But most importantly, I’m a passionate mother, who maybe like you, struggles with work-life balance, taking care of my partner, the kids, keeping up with the dishes and laundry, all while building a career. I’m still learning every day, but I love to take what I’ve learned and help transform other people’s lives to help bring them more peace, joy and contentment with who they are. This is what I hope you’re able to find at The Union.

An Integrative Nutrition Health Coach is a guide and mentor who empowers you and provides ongoing support and guidance as you set goals and make sustainable changes that improve your health and happiness.

Lesley Langfeldt

Hi! I'm Lesley Langfeldt, a Certified Functional Nutrition Coach & Personal Trainer. As a mom to 3 boys, the oldest with special needs, I understand how difficult and time-consuming it is to take care of your family, let alone yourself. However, I truly believe that taking care of ourselves is vitally important to being able to take care of others.

I know it can be hard to make time for yourself while also having to navigate the emotional and physical demands of life - appointments, activities, work, time with each of your kiddos, self care, or even what the best foods to eat or workouts are for your goals. You're not alone, and I'm here to help.

Whether it’s through helping you use food as medicine or personal training with me, I will empower you to feel healthy, strong and capable both mentally and physically. My goal as your nutrition coach or personal trainer is to have a positive impact on your life; to help you become the happiest, healthiest, strongest version of yourself.

Nicole Fergison

Hello!  I’m Nicole Fergison, a Certified Recreational Therapist and Nutrition Coach. Over the past 20+ years, I have had the privilege of working alongside many individuals and groups within a wide range of environments and abilities, toward goals of physical, mental, and emotional health.

My creative approaches are results-driven, and I am passionate about treating people as the whole version of themselves - working toward feeling and being the best that they can, while recognizing and overcoming any challenges along the journey. I love exploring what fits best, whether that is sneaking in extra vegetables or extra movement, and connecting it to how it makes one’s body and mind feel to create positive lifestyle transformation.  As your coach, I am passionate about supporting your personal goals and doing what I can to help you feel happy and healthy!

Katie Sellers

Hi! I’m Katie Sellers, a Certified Personal Trainer, proud farm girl from Bourbon, Indiana, junior high volleyball coach, and Purdue University graduate—Boiler Up!

My fitness journey really took off in college. After years of playing sports and having structured training, stepping into Purdue’s CoRec felt overwhelming. But through group classes and eventually designing my own workouts, I gained the confidence, strength, and energy I’d been missing.

Today, I’m passionate about helping others experience that same transformation. I bring high energy, coaching experience, and a heart for empowering others to every session. Whether you’re just starting out or ready to level up, I’m here to keep you motivated, focused, and on track to reach your goals.

Let’s get stronger—together!

Emma Parsons

Hi! I’m Emma Parsons, Certified Glowin Face Yoga Instructor and Personal Trainer, and founder of Golden Era Living,  an online facial rejuvenation and wellness brand dedicated to natural, holistic beauty. I’m passionate about helping women rejuvenate their faces and reconnect with their confidence. After years of exploring holistic wellness and searching for a natural alternative to cosmetic procedures, I discovered face yoga. Based in modern science and Traditional Chinese Medicine, my method reverses aging signs while restoring balance - mind, body, spirit, and face. In my classes and one-on-one sessions, I combine face yoga, mindful breathwork, and the energy principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine to support youthful regeneration, relaxation, and emotional release. My work centers on helping women recover from burnout, balance their energy, and reclaim their natural glow at every age.

Suzzette Shepherd

Hi, I’m Suzzette, a fifth-generation traditional healer with deep roots in Curanderismo, Native American spiritual restoration, meditation, and Reiki.

Curanderismo is the art of traditional folk healing, and I specialize in cleansing and restoring the spirit/soul using water, smoke, herbs, and fire limpias. My work focuses on helping individuals release past traumas, ancestral karma, and stagnant energy to return to a more balanced, grounded, and empowered state of being.

I offer individual healing sessions as well as a monthly group Healing Circle at The Union, where we create safe, sacred space for release, renewal, and deep energetic transformation. Each session is guided by intuition, tradition, and love, meeting you exactly where you are on your healing journey.

If you’re feeling heavy, stuck, or disconnected, I’d be honored to walk alongside you.

With a background of over 10 years as a licensed hairstylist, I’ve always been drawn to connection, trust, and helping people feel their best—inside and out. I’m especially passionate about mental health and women’s wellness, and creating a space where people feel seen, supported, and like they truly belong.

I can’t wait to connect with you and help make your experience at The Union feel effortless and meaningful.

Nicole Sniadecki

Hi, I’m Nicole Sniadecki, a certified yoga instructor devoted to helping others reconnect with their bodies, breath, and inner peace.

My teaching is rooted in compassion, presence, and the belief that healing happens when we slow down and truly listen to ourselves. I create a welcoming, judgment-free space where students of all levels can feel safe to explore, grow, and simply be.

Through mindful movement, breathwork, and gentle strength, my classes are designed to support both physical well-being and emotional balance. To me, yoga is more than a practice; it’s a path to wholeness.

Whether you’re stepping onto the mat for the first time or returning to yourself after time away, I’m here to guide you with kindness, authenticity, and care.
